The transition from analog to digital was postponed last week until June 12, but Congress and the FCC also gave individual stations the option to stick with their original scheduled Feb. 17 transition date. Some stations are staying true to the original date while others are switching prior to the new deadline and some are waiting until June 12.
Stations had already planned for the switch in February and may be inclined to switch as scheduled while some stations may see this as an opportunity to make the transition when more TV households are prepared to receive the digital signal. Either way, it’s best to visit your local stations’ websites to find out exactly when they will be switching. See below for a video explaining the transition and FAQs.
